On August 11, a massive explosion occurred aboard the MSC Capetown III at Colombo Port in Sri Lanka.

The vessel was in the process of unloading and loading containers when a fire started among 100 containers below deck and 60 containers above deck. The fire quickly escalated, leading to the explosion. However, the port's firefighting teams responded swiftly, and the ship's crew was evacuated without injuries.
