27 Jun 2024
CMA CGM is introducing a new maritime service, EMED 1, which will start operations on July 10, 2024. This service aims to strengthen maritime links between Turkey, Egypt, and Lebanon, offering a streamlined route for shipping goods in the region. The EMED 1 service will cover the Turkish port of Antalya, and will have global connections available in Alexandria, Egypt, and Beirut, Lebanon.
The service will feature a vessel with a capacity of 1,100 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units), ensuring ample space for a variety of shipments. The EMED 1 service will follow a weekly rotation, starting from Antalya and making stops in Alexandria and Beirut. This initiative is part of CMA CGM's broader strategy to expand its network and provide efficient, reliable maritime solutions in the Mediterranean region.
By establishing this new route, CMA CGM is enhancing trade opportunities and logistical efficiency for businesses operating in Turkey, Egypt, and Lebanon. The weekly frequency of the EMED 1 service ensures regular and reliable shipping schedules, which is critical for the timely delivery of goods and the smooth operation of supply chains.
