CMA CGM, the French shipping giant, has announced a price adjustment for shipping goods from the Middle East and the Gulf region to various European and North African destinations. Effective from July 6, the company will impose a $200 fee per 20-foot dry container that has a total weight of 15 tons or more.
This surcharge will apply to shipments bound for Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Poland, the Western and Eastern Mediterranean, the Adriatic, the Baltic, and North Africa, including Morocco. The company aims to manage market conditions more effectively with this adjustment.
Additionally, CMA CGM has recently launched the EMED 1 service, enhancing connectivity between Turkey, Egypt, and Lebanon. This new service, initiated in the last week of June, will operate weekly, covering the Turkish port of Antalya with global connections through Alexandria in Egypt and Beirut in Lebanon.
These strategic moves reflect CMA CGM's commitment to optimizing their shipping routes and providing reliable services across key regions.
