Hapag-Lloyd Increases Rates from India and Pakistan

Hapag-Lloyd has announced price increases for shipping from India and Pakistan to several destinations, effective next month. Rates for 20-foot and 40-foot dry containers from these countries to Northern Europe will rise by up to $500 per container starting June 1.
Additionally, tariff rates from India and Pakistan to Southern Europe and North Africa, including dry high cube equipment, will see an increase of $150 per container, effective June 3.
Specifically for the Eastern Mediterranean region, which includes ports in Egypt, the freight rates will undergo a significant adjustment. The tariff for a 20-foot container will increase from $1,902 to $2,352, a rise of $450. Meanwhile, the rate for a 40-foot container will jump from $1,104 to $1,654, marking a $550 increase.
