CMA CGM Raises Freight Rates from the Mediterranean to Jeddah and Khalifa Ports

CMA CGM has announced the implementation of new ocean freight rates to Jeddah Port (Saudi Arabia) and Khalifa Port (UAE), effective from July 1, 2025, until further notice. The new rates are as follows:

 To Jeddah Port:
  • From West Mediterranean:
     $900 (20-foot container) / $1,000 (40-foot container)

  • From the Black Sea:
     $1,050 (20-foot) / $1,500 (40-foot)

  • From East Mediterranean:
     $1,150 per container (20 or 40-foot)

  • From Adriatic:
     $800 (20-foot) / $850 (40-foot)


 To Khalifa Port – UAE:

  • From West Mediterranean:
     $750 per container (20 or 40-foot)

  • From the Black Sea:
     $900 (20-foot) / $1,160 (40-foot)

  • From East Mediterranean:
     $1,100 per container (20 or 40-foot)

  • From Adriatic:
     $800 (20-foot) / $850 (40-foot)

MSC Launches “Himalaya Express” Service to Dammam and Jubail Ports

In a significant development, the Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani” has announced the addition of MSC’s “Himalaya Express” service to the ports of Dammam and Jubail. The new service connects Saudi Arabia to 12 international destinations, including:
Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi (UAE); Hamad Port (Qatar); Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Vizhinjam (India); Sines (Portugal); Valencia, Barcelona, Malaga (Spain); Gioia Tauro, Genoa (Italy).


The service operates with a capacity of up to 14,000 TEUs (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units).

This new addition is part of Saudi Arabia’s strategy to become a global logistics hub, aiming to reduce transit times and boost the flow of goods and national exports.
