CMA CGM has announced a new freight rate increase under its Rate Restoration Initiative (RRI). It applies to shipments to the US East Coast and connected inland areas from 1 November 2026.
For shipments from Egypt, Greece, Lebanon, Malta, Syria and Cyprus, as well as the Black Sea, Adriatic and North African ports included in the update, the charges are:
USD 500 per 20ft container USD 1,000 per 40ft, 40ft High Cube and 45ft container
The charges apply to all cargo types except out of gauge (OOG) shipments.
Shipments from Turkey to the US East Coast carry higher charges of USD 750 per 20ft container and USD 1,500 per 40ft, 40ft High Cube and 45ft container.
