Maersk has announced a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on shipments to Egypt from several South American markets.
The surcharge applies to shipments from Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay from 1 November 2026. For shipments from Brazil, it applies from 15 November 2026 until further notice.
The surcharge amounts are:
USD 500 per 20ft container, dry or reefer. USD 500 per 40ft container, dry or reefer.
Maersk noted that the PSS does not apply to SPOT bookings. Other bookings will be charged based on the Price Calculation Date (PCD).
