MSC has announced the merger of its West Mediterranean to West Africa and West Mediterranean to Red Sea services into a single network, widening maritime connectivity between Europe, West Africa and the Red Sea. The carrier is targeting better vessel utilisation and simpler operations while maintaining direct links between regional markets.
The service calls at Valencia, Barcelona, Tanger Med, Abidjan, Tema, Lomé, Takoradi, Douala, Kribi, Pointe-Noire, Matadi, Jeddah, Aqaba, and back to Valencia. The merger provides broader port coverage under one service, along with a connection between Red Sea ports and West African markets, a growing destination for a number of Egyptian exports.
