PIL has announced the launch of its new IRF service, connecting Safaga port and Sokhna port in Egypt with Jeddah Islamic Port in Saudi Arabia. The service is deployed with a vessel of up to 1,261 TEU capacity.
It adds a direct option for cargo movement between Egypt's Red Sea ports and the Saudi market, a corridor relied on by a large number of Egyptian exporters in food, building materials and manufacturing. The Saudi Ports Authority stated that the addition strengthens Jeddah Islamic Port's position as a main hub for maritime connectivity on the Red Sea.
