New Service Connects Türkiye and Jeddah Islamic Port via the Suez Canal

Akkon Lines has launched a new service, Jeddah Express (JXS), providing a direct maritime link between Türkiye and Jeddah Islamic Port in Saudi Arabia through the Suez Canal. The service is deployed with two vessels of around 2,000 TEU each, operating on a 10 day frequency, strengthening connectivity between Türkiye and the Red Sea coast. The rotation covers Izmit (Safiport), Gemlik, Istanbul, Ambarli and Izmir, before calling at Jeddah and returning to Izmit. The service is intended to support trade flows between Türkiye and the Kingdom and improve cargo movement through the Red Sea, drawing on Jeddah Islamic Port's position as a major logistics hub linking regional and global markets.
