Nafeza has issued detailed clarifications on how the Developed Export System and the UCR number apply to exporters, confirming that the system currently operates at Ain Sokhna Port and will be extended gradually to the rest of Egypt's ports according to the Customs Authority plan. For shipments registered for export from Badr Dry Port or any customs office not connected to the platform, the exporter must first register the shipment and obtain a UCR number through Nafeza, then submit the export declaration including that number to the relevant customs office. This is a prerequisite for starting customs procedures. Where a shipment moves to the final export port through the Bosla system, a single export declaration containing the UCR number is submitted, allowing the registering customs office to issue multiple Bosla permits when goods or containers are moved in stages, in line with Procedures Circular No. 12 of 2026. Nafeza also confirmed that an online training session will be held shortly for exporters who place more than one booking for a single shipment with more than one carrier or shipping agent, to explain how the new procedures apply.
