Mawani Launches New Empty Container Storage Zone at Jeddah Islamic Port

Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) launched a new empty container storage zone at Jeddah Islamic Port, in partnership with Al Ghorb Group, Alam, and Roshn. The zone adds capacity for 100,000 additional containers as part of what is described as the world's largest truck dispatch area within a port. 

The project covers a total area of 250,000 square meters, with operational capacity reaching 200,000 standard containers per month and 60,000 trucks per month, equivalent to roughly 2,000 trucks daily around the clock. 

The initiative aims to speed up container turnaround, reduce congestion within the port, and improve the flow of export and import cargo.
