Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk announced new measures aimed at reducing customs clearance time and simplifying procedures for importers and exporters. The changes allow customs procedures to begin as soon as cargo arrives at port, without requiring a delivery order to be submitted alongside the customs declaration, provided it is fulfilled before final cargo release. The decision also allows the bill of lading issued in the importer's name to be sufficient when submitting the customs declaration, with remaining documents and requirements completed before final release. These measures aim to reduce the number of required documents and shorten clearance steps, helping speed up cargo release and improve trade flow efficiency at Egyptian ports.
