Maersk launched a new weekly direct service connecting North Europe and Italy to Egypt, aimed at improving transit times and strengthening trade connectivity with the Eastern Mediterranean. The service links Gdansk, Bremerhaven, and Genoa (Vado Ligure) with Port Said and Alexandria, reducing reliance on indirect routings. Maersk said the new service offers faster transit times and improved reliability for cargo moving to Egypt and the Eastern Mediterranean, amid continued growth in regional trade. The service route runs as follows: Gdansk, Bremerhaven, Genoa (Vado Ligure), East Port Said, Alexandria, Tangier, Gdansk.
