Yang Ming Launches MD1 Service Connecting Asia to the Mediterranean via Damietta

 

Yang Ming has announced the launch of its new MD1 service, linking Asian ports to the Mediterranean — with Damietta Port included as a key call on the route, supporting both Egyptian exports and imports. 

The service operates on a weekly fixed schedule, calling at world-class automated terminals including Yangshan Phase 4 in Shanghai and PSA Singapore. 

MD1 Route: Ningbo → Shanghai → Shekou → Singapore → Damietta 

This new service adds a direct, reliable connection between China and Egypt, offering shippers on the Asia–Med corridor a competitive weekly option with premium terminal handling at both ends.
