Maersk Raises Reefer Rates from Egyptian Ports Effective May 2026

 Maersk has announced revised reefer container rates from several Egyptian ports to global destinations, with increases taking effect from May 2026. 

Updated rates by port: 

Port Previous Rate New Rate Damietta, Sokhna, Alexandria, West Port Said, Dekheila | $2,400 | $2,640
East Port Said | $3,400 | $3,740 

The adjustments reflect Maersk's broader push toward financial discipline in 2026, amid ongoing shifts across the global shipping market. 

Exporters shipping temperature-sensitive cargo — including food products, pharmaceuticals, and perishables — from Egyptian ports should update their cost projections ahead of May bookings.
