Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, announced the start of a new phase in the return of container ships operated by major global shipping lines to transit the Suez Canal.

Navigation traffic recently witnessed the transit of two container vessels belonging to the French shipping group CMA CGM. The ultra-large container ship CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE transited within the northbound convoy, while CMA CGM ADONIS passed through the southbound convoy, signaling the gradual return of mega container ships to the strategic waterway.

CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE is the largest container ship to transit the Suez Canal in two years, measuring 400 meters in length with a carrying capacity of up to 23,000 TEUs.
