The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) announced the addition of a new shipping service, JEBEL ALI MIDDLE EAST EXPRESS, operated by CMA CGM, to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, strengthening regional connectivity and supporting trade flows across the Gulf.
The new service connects King Abdulaziz Port with Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, Shuaiba Port in Kuwait, and Khalifa Bin Salman Port in Bahrain, providing more flexible and efficient shipping options between regional ports.
The service offers a capacity of up to 1,500 TEUs, contributing to improved supply chain efficiency, smoother container movement, and reinforcing the position of Saudi ports as key regional logistics hubs.
This addition comes as part of Mawani’s ongoing efforts to enhance Saudi Arabia’s ranking in global performance indicators and to improve operational efficiency at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. The initiative also supports national export growth, in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub and a strategic link between three continents.
King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam plays a vital role in connecting Saudi Arabia with global economies. The port features advanced infrastructure and integrated logistics facilities that attract major international operators, with 43 fully equipped berths and a total handling capacity of up to 105 million tons of cargo and containers.
