Maersk has announced the implementation of new ocean freight and peak season surcharges on shipments from Middle Eastern and Indian Subcontinent ports to the U.S. East Coast.
 Effective October 2, a surcharge of USD 1,200 will apply to both dry and reefer containers (20ft and 40ft). Additionally, reefer containers will incur a further surcharge of USD 3,000.

These charges will apply to cargo originating from the following countries:
United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Bhutan, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
