While ocean-going maritime shipping remained unaffected, the blaze caused significant disruptions to inland shipping and port logistics, according to local reports. Several areas within the port had to be sealed off, delaying cargo handling, truck movements, and internal transport flows.

The fire also forced the temporary closure of the A1 motorway, one of Hamburg’s most critical transport arteries, after burning debris fell onto the roadway. This resulted in traffic standstills stretching up to 12 kilometers, further impacting supply chains and delivery schedules. Police confirmed the A1 reopened the following morning, though streets immediately surrounding the fire site remain closed, restricting access for cargo operations.
