Turkon Line has announced the enhancement of its shipping service connecting Turkey with India through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.
According to the company’s statement, the service will operate on a fixed weekly schedules with dedicated berthing windows at India’s Nhava Sheva and Mundra ports, supported by the addition of five vessels to the line.
The service, launched earlier this year, is set to extend its reach to the U.S. East Coast, Europe, and the Black Sea, in addition to serving key ports in Egypt and Lebanon.
In remarks made in February, Turkon Line CEO Alkin Kalkavan highlighted that the expansion aligns with the company’s strategy to broaden its operational footprint across the Middle East, Europe, the United States, and the Mediterranean. He emphasized that the new India service represents a strategic step in strengthening Turkon’s eastward network.
To support this growth, the company has commissioned two dual-fuel vessels built in Turkey, which are expected to increase fleet capacity by more than 50% during 2025.
The Türkiye–Red Sea–India (TRI) route will connect major regional ports including Jeddah Islamic Port, Alexandria, Aqaba, Ambarlı, Mersin, Evyap, Aliağa, Nhava Sheva, and Mundra. Designed for speed and efficiency, the corridor provides one of the fastest transit options between Turkey and India via the Suez Canal.
The TRI service will also feature integrated rail connections from Nhava Sheva and Mundra to India’s main inland trade hubs, including Delhi, Dadri, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Sonipat, and Ludhiana, ensuring seamless cargo movement between sea and inland markets.
