Suez Canal Automotive Terminal (SCAT), in partnership with NYK, Africa Global Logistics (AGL), and Toyota Tsusho, has officially inaugurated the first specialized RoRo terminal for handling finished vehicles in East Port Said.
The new terminal supports the rapidly growing Egyptian automotive market and the increasing demand for vehicle transshipment services across North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Equipped with a dual-berth quay, the facility can accommodate two car carriers simultaneously. Its initial storage capacity is 2,550 vehicles, with future expansion plans aiming to handle up to 10,000 vehicles.
The terminal will be operated under a 30-year concession agreement with the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Partner shares are distributed as follows:
